A New Beginning.

As of last sunday at extreme rules, it can be said that a season of wwe has concluded. Things have changed since Extreme Rules. Is it the end of the Era of Awesomeness since The Miz lost his title to John Cena? After 17 long years, Christian finally won the World Heavyweight Championship.
Before i move deeper into the topic, let me refresh your minds on the 2011 WWE draft.

Anyway, enough of small talk, fast foward to present times and Raw talk.

RAW TALK. 2/5/2011

The most electrifying birthday in all of TV. Well thats what The Rock said anyway.
Past monday night, Raw kicked off with a bang. A video on the 9/11 incident followed by the national anthem by non other than THE Jillian Garcia. This was very emotional not just for America but for the world as well. After that The Rock came in, and before starting his speech, said, FINALLY, WE'VE GOT HIM, followed by the pledge. After that it started to get draggy. The Rock is definitely the best mic worker in WWE history, but his speeches are slowly turning from epic to just plain. 5-10 minutes with The Rock is electrifying, any longer and it becomes annoying. The Rock's speech got interupted by the Raw GM and Michael Cole. This segment was entertaining, with the Rock Bottom and the Peoples Elbow but like i said, it was a little draggy.
Next was a performance by Pitbull. I felt this was okay. Pitbull didnt take up too much time. Just a couple of minutes and there were the hot Miami Heat cheerleaders dancing in the background.
Another bad thing about The Rock's lengthy segments is that it cuts out the time for other superstars to perform. R-truth & Morrison were just given around 5 minutes in which R-truth bashed up Morrison.(still no R-truth heel song).
There was a tag team match between Kofi&Rey vs Swagger&Drew, with Alberto Del Rio at the commentary table apparantely scouting new competition. This match was average but it looks like theres going to be another Del Rio-Mysterio feud.
Another interesting part of the night was Mason Ryan man handling Kane and then the spear to Bigshow. Following that he walked away from his group despite CM Punk ordering him to come back. Is this the end of nexus?
Kharma made an entrance just as a match between Kelly Kelly and Maryse were about to kick off. Kharma did her finisher to Maryse while Kelly Kelly sat at the corner of the ring, stunned, looking as if shes seen a ghost.
And the main match of the night was the rematch between John Cena and The Miz. This was a great match. A hundred times better than the match they had at wrestlemania. The Miz won but got then got disqualified, so and still the WWE champion, John Cena. End of the Era Of Awesomeness? Maybe.
Finally the shows main event. It was completely boring if u asked me. The Rock said a few thank yous, then the surprise entrance by the chairman himself. He also said his thank yous and presented a video on The Rock. It finally ended with the birthday song by Mya and the rock saying his catch phrase.
All in all, it was okay. Quite entertaining at some points, not so much wrestling though. Was it the most electrifying birthday ever? Hell NO.

verdict: 5/10

SMACK TALK. 6/5/2011

The most electrifying man's birthday on Raw as compared to plain Smackdown. Ill tell you what, Smackdown was a Millions and Millions times better.
There was plenty of wrestling, and every match was good.
I'm just going to rush through the programme as there is one match in particular that i want to stress.

There was  match between Sin cara and Tyson kidd. Sin Cara never failed to dissapoint. Many spectacular stunts and the win over Tyson kidd.
Layla also pulled a win over Alicia fox. Ofcourse that wasn't the talking point of the match. Kharma made an entry again. Smashing Alicia Fox this time.
The match between Sheamus and Daniel Bryan was nice.Sheamus got the victory.  An old feud rekindled maybe?
One of the significant matches of the night was between Ezekiel Jackson and Big show. All the members of The Corre were present to distract Big Show. The Big Red monster was present as well. An impressive powerful performance by Jackson led to his victory over Big Show. After the match, Ezekiel Jackson left the members of his group behind(quite similar to Mason Ryan on Monday) and walked towards the lockar room. Unlike the members of The New Nexus, members of The corre couldn't let him walk away. Barrett, Slater and Gabriel paid a visit to Jackson in the locker room and gave him the beating of his life. End of The corre?

And now the main event.
Randy 'The Viper' Orton VS 'Captain Charisma' Christian.
The match was a good one. In the end, the RKO out of nowhere struck and Orton became the new World Heavy Weight Champion. After 17 years of hardwork, Christian lost his title within 5 days(I knw Smackdown is taped on tuesday. But officially it's still Friday Night Smackdown) to Randy Orton.

So, here's my take on the whole thing.
Honestly, I thought it was awesome. I am not being biased. I actually thing this would benefit the both of them.
Okay lets imagine that didn't happen, Christian still the World Heavy Weight champion. He would still be the B guy on Smackdown. Randy Ortan would still main event most of the matches. Eventually Randy Ortan would win the title and thats it for Christian's moment in the light. Is this what most fans are asking for??
To be honest, I think the fans screwed Christian up(If u call it screwed up). Many of you might not realise, but  i think Vince did an experiment on monday. Remember Christian's appearance backstage with The Rock? The fans didn't actually react much. Which just proves Vince Mcmahon's point. Christian cant draw an audience attention.
The situation now is this.....
Before the match at Extreme Rules, Christian mentioned he finally deserved to touch the World Heavy Weight title.(Note emotional moment no 1). Then Christian won his title at Extreme Rules, Edge entered the ring gave his best friend a hug.(Note emotional moment no 2). On smackdown, they showed a short video on christian finally winning it after 17 years.(Note emotional moment no 3).
The main event,(Note: The main event was chosen by the fans. Teddy long gave the fans a choice between Khali, Henry and Orton. If the fans chose Khali or Henry, the results would be different) Orton won the title. 3 emotional moments crushed just like that. And what do i say about that? Awesome! Thats what i say.
This situation has finally made the WWE universe, get behind Christian and really support him. After 17 long years, i think Christian finally got the push he needed, not by winning but by losing.
This situation, also made the crowd lash out at WWE'S no 2 babyface, Randy Ortan. How is this good? I'll explain further.
Orton winning Christian opened 3 situations: It could be Great, good, or bad.
1) Orton turning heel- Now this would be great. I feel Orton is a much better heel than face. I think he could            be the greatest heel in WWE history. Especially with most of the wwe universe lashing out at him, a heel turn would be perfect.
2) Christian turning heel- This situation is possible but i think it's unlikely. The story could be, Christian seeking revenge because Orton "stole" the title from him. New song, new look, new found aggression, Christian turns heel. Though it sounds interesting(atleast to me it does), with the whole crowd behind his back. I dun think it's possible to turn him heel. Besides, I don't think he will be able to pull off a heel role as well as Orton.
3) Nothing much happens- Now this would be a bad situation. If vince and his creative team do this, then I would be pissed. Christian losing his rematch, they shake hands, nobody turns heel. But this situation is close to impossible.

So this is a push for Christian because he could be the main hero of Smackdown, and Orton the main villain. No more Edge's sidekick, No more getting less cheers than Orton. He would be the man, and i feel this feud should stretch to atleast 2 or 3 PPV, Christian should lose at Over The Limit, And when he finally wins it back in Summerslam, imagine the crowds reaction to that. Imagine the emotion in that.

One thing i'm sure about the WWE is... the Good guys always win eventually.

  1. I really thought Christian would've had his title for a while but he lost it so quick....I figured he'd probably have it at least till wrestlemania. What's your thoughts on Christian losing the title so quick?

  2. I think him losing his title so quick increases the heat in this feud.
If Christian would have kept his title till wrestlemania, and then lose it to Orton, I dun think the feud would be that effective.
like i said, Christian losing his title early means either one of them could turn heel.

  3. Oh okay, I get you. Wow this is gonna be the best rivalry in a long time. I really feel this last one between Miz and Cena sucked!
